MacBain Community Centre

Our New Home
The MacBain Community Centre is now the new home for Niagara Falls Big Brothers Big Sisters, along with five other community partners.  The partners include Heart Niagara Inc., Niagara Falls Big Brothers Big Sisters, YMCA of Niagara, United Way of Niagara Falls, Coronation 50 Plus Satellite Drop In Centre, a Public Library-Neighbourhood Branch and the Parks, Recreation and Culture offices of the City of Niagara Falls.  This building is located on the corner of Montrose and McLeod Roads in Niagara Falls.

“Our new Centre will serve thousands of children and their families, thanks to the generous commitment of hundreds of volunteers and donors who have pledged over $1.6 towards the $2 million goal,” notes Dr. Ian Brown, MacBain Community Centre Campaign Chair.

You are invited, as part of the Community Campaign, to make a charitable gift supporting the facility by phoning 905-356-0190 or by emailing niagarafallscommunitycentre.ca

Through the seven partners, the centre will offer health, leisure, educational and volunteer opportunity for people of all ages, abilities and economic circumstances.  The facility located on Montrose and McLeod Road, is rapidly taking shape. It will soon be fully enclosed with much of the floor surfaces poured.  The 100,000 square foot Community Centre opening summer 2005, will offer services through the six partners utilizing the aquatic centre, gymnasiums, courts, café, library, fitness centre, track, multipurpose rooms and more.

Niagara Falls Big Brothers Big Sisters is especially pleased to be involved in this initiative.  The move to a new facility with such proven community partners will be instrumental in allowing us to serve more children, in a better capacity.

Niagara Falls Big Brothers Big Sisters would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Capital Campaign to help build this wonderful community centre-piece.
